ROAD MAP for PARTNER SCHOOLS FOR 2012-2013 SCHOOL YEAR

Event: Videoconference with NASA

October 2012
Teachers

  • Send filled “Application Forms” to GFTSE
  • Send “Technical Information Form” to GFTSE
  • Take students photos with you and send it to SCT with all students names according to order in the photo http://www.gftse.org/pssp_our_students.html
  • Send your picture with short CV you can find examples at the link. http://www.gftse.org/pssp_our_teachers.html
  • Exchange first emails between teachers
  • Send “Student List” to GFTSE with Name Surname, Gender, Grade and your partner school
  • Exchange “School Calendar” with your partner school
  • Organize and participate 1st “Meeting and Greeting Videoconference” (VC)
  • Choose 1st topic from GFTSE’s  “Curriculum” with your partner school
  • Inform Mr.Tolga Yildirim about the topic and start working on pre-event activities
  • Provide two alternative dates at least 1,5 month advance to GFTSE for test VC and event to GFTSE to make videoconference registration to NASA*
    • Sample: Let’s say you agreed on with your partner on October 15 to work on “Human to Mars” topic and informed GFTSE so you have to provide to alternative dates you agreed on with your partner for test and event such below.
      • Test Alternative Date 1: November 15, 10:00 Central Day Time, CDT)
      • Test Alternative Date 2: November 20, 10:00 CDT
      • Event Alternative Date 1: December 5, 10:00 CDT
      • Event Alternative Date 2: December 15 10:00 CDT
    • NASA works week days between 08:00 – 18:00
  • Encourage your students to send first emails to partners
  • Make announcements to participate for E- Pal Week

 

November 2012

  • Preparation for the EVENT
  • Participate to videoconference with NASA (EVENT No 1)
  • Start working on Post Event activities

December 2012
Teachers

  • Encourage students to exchange emails
  • Organize and participate 2nd “Meeting and Greeting” VC
  • Choose 2nd topic with your partner school
  • Inform Mr. Tolga Yildirim about the topic and start working on pre-event activities and provide all information to GFTSE on the Sample.
  • Prepare and send “Culture Capsule” to the partners

January 2013
Teachers

  • Encourage students to exchange emails
  • Preparation for the EVENT
  • Participate to videoconference with NASA (EVENT No 2)
  • Start working on Post Event activities

February 2013
Teachers

  • Organize and participate 3rd “Meeting and Greeting” VC
  • Making announcement to participate E-Pal Week
  • Organize student group for E-Pal Week
  • Have your studetns made their payments before May 1st
  • Choose 3rd topic with your partner school
  • Inform GFTSE about the topic, test and real VCs alternative dates and start working on pre-event

March 2013

  • Encourage students to exchange emails
  • Participation to videoconference with NASA (Event No 3)
  • Remind students E-Pal Week payments deadline is May 1st.
  • Inform Mr.Tolga Yildirim about E-Pal participant students, their partners and chaperones

April 2013
Teachers

  • Organize and participate 4th “Meeting and Greeting” VC
  • Choose 4th topic with your partner school
  • Inform GFTSE about the topic and start working on pre-event activities
  • Encourage students to exchange emails
  • Make all payments regarding E-Pal Week.

May 2013
Teachers

  • Encourage students to exchange emails
  • Preparation for the event
  • Participation to VC with ANSA (Event 4)
  • Preparation to participate E-Pal Week
  • Preparation for the Science Fair during E-Pal Week
  • Preparation fro Special Event Night at E-Pal Week.

June 2013
Teachers

  • Finalize participation to E-Pal Week.
