Oya SAKIZ - Dean, VKV Koc Elementary School, Istanbul, Turkey

Oya Sakiz has been working in VKV Koç Elementary School for ten years, three years as a Literature Teacher in IB program and seven years as a Dean. She graduated from Marmara University, Turkish Language and Literature Education Department in 1991. She then completed a Business Administration Master’s program in Istanbul University in 1997, and College Education Master’s Program in Boston Endicott College in 2003.

She attended many educational courses on Education and School Management as well as PTC Effective School Program.

Besides her administrative duties in the school, she organizes excursion programs across the country and overseas for Visual Arts and Science Departments.

She delivered a presentation in ATC program which emphasized the necessity of adopting an integral approach to education through Interdisciplinary Cooperation, and importance of learning through experience and globalization. Turkey Space Camp program was integrated in the academic program of the school, basing on this approach. She currently coordinates “Global Friendship” in the school.
